How to PREPARE FOR YOUR FINE LINE TATTOO APPOINTMENT
Preparing properly for your tattoo appointment helps ensure the best possible experience, healing, and final result. Please review the guidelines below before arriving for your appointment.
⸻
1. Get a Good Night’s Sleep
Arrive well-rested. A good night’s sleep helps your body handle the tattoo process better and supports smoother healing.
⸻
2. Eat Before Your Appointment
Please eat a full meal 1–2 hours before your appointment. Tattooing on an empty stomach can cause dizziness, nausea, or feeling faint.
✔ Protein and healthy carbs are ideal
✔ Bring a small snack for longer sessions
⸻
3. Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of your appointment. Well-hydrated skin takes ink better and heals more efficiently.
🚫 Avoid excessive caffeine, which can dehydrate you
⸻
4. Avoid Alcohol & Blood Thinners
Do not drink alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, and other blood-thinning medications unless prescribed by your doctor.
Why this matters:
• Alcohol and blood thinners increase bleeding
• Excess bleeding can affect line quality and healing
⸻
5. Shower & Practice Good Hygiene
Please shower the day of your appointment and arrive clean.
Do not apply lotion, oils, or numbing creams unless discussed beforehand.
⸻
6. Wear Comfortable Clothing
Choose clothing that:
• Allows easy access to the tattoo area
• You don’t mind possibly getting ink on
• Is loose and breathable
👉 Black or dark colors are recommended.
⸻
7. Skin Prep (If Applicable)
• Do not shave the area unless instructed
• Avoid sunburns, tanning beds, or self-tanner at least 7 days prior
• If the skin is irritated, sunburned, or broken, your appointment may need to be rescheduled
⸻
8. Bring Proper Identification
A valid government-issued photo ID is required for all tattoo appointments.
⸻
9. Come Sober & Clear-Minded
For safety and legal reasons, you must arrive sober.
Appointments will be canceled if you arrive under the influence, and deposits will be forfeited.
⸻
10. Trust the Process
Your tattoo is a collaboration. Come open-minded, relaxed, and ready to enjoy the experience. Fine line tattoos require patience and precision—your artist will guide you every step of the way.
